18U Fall Season Top Performing Pitcher: Jaycee Shaffer

Congratulations Jaycee for being selected for the 16U Top Performing Pitcher for the Oklahoma Pulse 16U Softball Team. Jaycee Shaffer is a freshman who attends Cyril High School. Jaycee is a pitcher/utility for our 16U softball team. Boy, does this girl have all the tools when it comes to the circle. I truly believe that as she continues to progress, she will be on everyone's list of recruits when it is all said and done. Jaycee is a pitcher that has deceptive velocity due to her smooth delivery. She reaches speeds of 60-61 MPH at times. She also has great spin to compliment the velocity that she carries. She displays very mature composure as she dissects hitters throughout the game. Jaycee pitched in 4 games this fall with 3 wins and 1 loss giving up only 4 earned runs. She faced 74 batters with a staggering 26 strikeouts. Jaycee also pitched for the 18U team. She faced 16 batters with 5 strikeouts, 3 walks, and giving up 2 hits with 0 earned runs. The batting average of the 18U opponents was .154. Even though she jumped up in age, she did not miss a beat. Jaycee will continue to get better in the circle as she grows and matures. We are very blessed to have her in the Oklahoma Pulse family. Jaycee, we look forward to see what you do in the future and we thank you for allowing us to coach and mentor you moving forward. Good Job, Kid!

16U Fall Season Defensive Player Spotlight: Allison Henry

Congratulations Allison for being selected for the 16U Fall Season Defensive Player Spotlight for the 16U Oklahoma Pulse softball team. Allison is a sophomore who attends Edmond North High School. She currently plays on our 16U team and we are so blessed to have Allison in our program. She has added something very special to our team. She has great speed, great tracking ability, is smooth to the ball, and knows her angles. Watching Allison play defense is really a beautiful thing to see. She is a quiet, confident girl that knows she can play or do anything on the field. Allison is a player that will wear many hats for our 16U team. She will play middle infield or outfield and will be a pivital force at any position. Allison primarily played outfield in the fall. She gobbled up almost anything that was hit out there. But we know she is more capable to fill many roles on our defense. Allison, we are so blessed to have you. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to get to know you, coach you, and mentor you. We look forward to you continuing your success with us in the future. Way to Go, Allison.

Congratulations KK for being selected for the 16U Fall Season Offensive Player Spotlight for the 16U Oklahoma Pulse softball team. KK is a freshman who attend Mustang High School. She currently plays on our 16U team and she is a very talented young player. She has a dominate plate presence that dares teams to pitch to her. KK played in 15 games with 28 plate appearances and 26 at bats. She maintained a staggering .538 batting average with an on base percentage of .571. She had 14 hits which included 7 singles, 5 doubles, 1 triple, and 1 home run that I'm not even sure has landed yet. KK led the team with 14 RBIs, 2 base on balls, and only 2 strikeouts on the season. KK was able to do this while she maintained the 3 hole position which we all know is a tall task to put up those numbers. We are so blessed to have KK in our program and I can guarantee you that this young lady will do big things in this sport. KK, thank you for giving us the opportunity to coach and mentor you. Those are good numbers but in her case, it is not all about the numbers. It is about overcoming injuries and learning a new position. Kenzie has excelled at short stop and has become someone who can play any position on the field. She is physically and mentally strong, along with athletic ability that is unmatched. She works harder than any kid I have seen. We are happy to have Kenzie in an Oklahoma Pulse uniform. Kenzie, thank you for trusting me to coach you. I am happy to have you on the team. 18U Fall Season Offensive Player Spotlight: Grace Neely

Grace Neely is a Junior and one of the Captains for the 18U Oklahoma Pulse Softball team. It has been really neat watching Grace grown and mature into the softball player she is today. She has developed into a dominate force at the plate. She has learned and displays what it means to have an approach and make adjustments from pitch to pitch and it shows in her numbers. This fall, Grace played 16 games with 31 plate appearances and maintained a dominate .571 batting average with an on base percentage of .710. Her slugging percentage was 1.095. She had 12 hits which included 7 singles, 1 double, 2 triples, and 2 homeruns for a total of 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored. She drew 8 base on balls, 2 HBPs, and 0 strikeouts on the season. Grace hit in the 3 hole and 1 hole spot which we all know is a tough task. Grace's accomplishments this fall are truly dominate and we are excited and blessed to have her in a Pulse uniform. Shealee Paull is from Wellston, OK and is one of the youngest players on our team. She pitches and plays outfield. She has been the most improved player on the team this season. She has been steadily improving her game from week to week. This last week at the FireLake World Series, she broke out. Paull lead the team with a .600 for the weekend and was also impressive defensively. Coach Marcos said, "It was really special to watch what she was able to accomplish and how she did it." She repeated did what she had to do in every game situation, whether it was hitting behind a runner, getting on with two outs, getting a walk, or making big plays in the outfield. She just delivered all weekend. Congratulations Shealee Paull! Keep Working Hard!

Oklahoma Pulse takes 1st Place at FireLake World Series

Oklahoma Pulse Softball played in the FireLake World Series July 12-15. It was a field of 16 teams and the Oklahoma Pulse Softball team came out on top. One game at a time, we had some big wins, some games with our backs against the wall but after it was all said and done, Oklahoma Pulse went undefeated, winning 8 games, and taking home the championship. Coach Marcos is extremely pleased with the way his team is coming together. It feels like we are peaking at the right time. We have won 13 in a row and we have managed to get the "W" several different ways. The girls have been very resilient, and I hope we can keep the momentum going into Nationals next week. I am extremely proud of my team, but we are not finished yet. CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS!
